It has depth, literary insight and inspiration. Since that is all I know about alcohol it is hard for me to find anything negative to say about it. It is by a well-known writer, a well-known ex-alcoholic and an AA member. This is a good book that is not preachy or a tirade on alcohol. It is honest and captures the truth of what the feeling is of a drunk or sober. It explains AA as well as compares the difference between alcohol and drugs and each one is easier for alcohol. I never knew that this particular brand of alcohol was what made you feel so awful. I also never knew that there was a difference between alcohol and drugs and that alcohol was easier to get addicted to and have a harder time getting off than other drugs. I am so glad that I found this book. I will definitely recommend it to anyone that I know who might be drinking too much. This is a real eye opener. I learned that alcohol was more addictive than I had thought. I had never really thought about it that way before. The use of Alcohol is much more frequent than I ever imagined. And it is becoming much more frequent in my circle of friends. I had no idea how many people use alcohol in the way that I see my circle of friends doing. I knew that Alcohol was illegal and was aware that it was dangerous. But I never even thought about the fact that it was so much more likely to become an issue in one's life than some other type of drug.
